Johannesburg, South Africa: The Founding Donors of the Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) Mampeule Foundation, which is a leading South African non-profit organisation committed to global health, education, rural development and tertiary education bursary support, will host an exclusive social event with a Qatari delegation on 17 November 2025 ahead of the 2025 G20 Johannesburg Summit.

Since its establishment in 2019 by Rali and Makentse Mampeule, the Mampeule Foundation has become a prominent force for social impact, implementing programmes that support young people, empower communities, and contribute to sustainable development both locally and globally. The Foundation’s work spans multiple focus areas, including educational bursaries, rural community development initiatives, property sector capacity building, and global health advocacy.

Hosted in partnership with Brand South Africa (Brand SA), the event is designed to convene leaders from Qatar and South Africa for high-level engagement that encourages dialogue, collaboration, and connection. It offers a timely platform for fostering deeper relationships with an important international partner while showcasing South Africa—from its vibrant culture and world-class infrastructure to its innovative spirit and expanding economic sectors.

Chairman and Founder of the Mampeule Foundation, Mr. Rali Mampeule, said: “Gatherings such as these present an opportunity for both the public and private sectors to start and strengthen relations with other states for economic or socio-economic discussions. The invite only event will be held in Waterfall City, one of South Africa’s most celebrated examples of modern urban development. The location was selected to give guests an immersive experience of South Africa’s innovation, hospitality, and contemporary city living— reflecting the nation’s forward-thinking approach to development, at the Balwin Properties ultra luxurious Penthouse and Villa.

The Mampeule Foundation’s commitment to meaningful impact extends beyond national borders. As a founding donor of the Global Surgery Foundation, the organisation contributes to global efforts aimed at ensuring access to safe, timely, and affordable surgical care for communities in low- and middle-income countries. Through this partnership and many others, the Foundation plays an important role in promoting equitable health outcomes worldwide.

About Rali Mampeule

Over the past five years, Rali Mampeule has cemented his reputation as a visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist.

He is the Founder of the South African Housing and Infrastructure Fund (SAHIF), which has delivered over 68,000 housing stands across South Africa, and an investor in MetroFibre Networx, which provides fibre connectivity to more than 510,000 homes nationwide.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he supported the Ikemeleng Community in Roodepoort, donating 75 temporary housing units to shelter more than 300 people.

In 2023, the Mampeule Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ), unveiled South Africa’s first 3D-printed house, a landmark step toward sustainable, affordable housing solutions.

Mampeule is also a supporter of youth development through initiatives such as Green Riders, which aims to create 50,000 green jobs over the next five years, and the Supreme Fight League (SFL), which empowers young South Africans in sport.

Together with his wife, Makentse Mampeule, he has sponsored over 90 students through the Foundation’s bursary programme and continues to champion global health through the Global Surgery Foundation in Switzerland.
